Why does old brow tattoo turn red or orange?
Because the cool tones in the pigment mix break down or were corrected away first, leaving the warm base behind. Old brow work drifts red or salmon-orange when the black and ash components fade faster than the iron-oxide warms underneath.

The other half of the fading story
Gray-blue brows happen when warm tones fade first. Red-orange brows are the mirror image: the cool components break down — or a previous artist neutralised them during a colour correction — and the warm base is what survives. Iron-oxide reds are stubborn; they can outlast everything else in the mix.
Why you can't correct your way out
Warm-shifted brows are usually answered with a cool ash layer on top. It works — briefly. Then the ash fades and the warmth returns, often patchier than before, because now two generations of pigment are fading at different rates. Removal addresses the warm base itself instead of hiding it, lifting the stubborn pigment progressively so the correction cycle can finally end.
